Young Women Service Project
It’s that time of year again and The Young Women are teaming up with Samaritan’s Purse to send Christmas boxes to kids in 3rd world countries. The Young Woman did this service project last year and really enjoyed it so have decided to do it again. Your donations last year really helped us make this service project a success.
If you’re looking for ways to donate this Christmas Season this is a great opportunity. We are asking for donations for shipping the boxes and to help us fill the boxes with gifts for the kids. We have a goal of 50 shoeboxes. If you would like to donate to this cause please Venmo Sabrina Ward with donations.
(The cost of each box is about $25.)
We can’t wait to see where our boxes end up and to share our love of Christ with these kids.
Thanks for your support!

Thought of the Week
by Michael Cox
Hello Brothers and Sisters,
We finish the Epistle to the Hebrews this week for Come, Follow Me by studying chapters 7-13. While there is much we could discuss in these chapters I wanted to focus on faith. In my family study on Friday we read Hebrews 11 verse 1 which reads “now faith is the substance of things hoped for, the evidence of things not seen”. We then had a discussed about if faith was a noun or a verb. We read and discussed several of the examples of faith outlined in chapter 11. Faith is more than something we have – it is something that causes us to act. Simply put faith is an action word. In the Lectures on Faith, part of the Doctrine and Covenants from the 1836 edition until being removed in the 1920 edition, the authors wrote that “faith is the principal of action”. In James 2:18, which we will read as part of next week’s Come, Follow Me, James wrote “I will shew thee my faith by my works”. Abel’s sacrifice was accepted by God, while Cain’s sacrifice was not accepted simply Abel had faith and Cain did not (see Hebrews 11:4). Let us show our faith in Jesus Christ by our actions. As we grow our faith, we will become more like, and therefore act more like, our Father in Heaven. Faith is a verb and this week I challenge each of us to find some way we can show others our faith in Christ by our actions.
