Young Women Service Project
It’s that time of year again and The Young Women are teaming up with Samaritan’s Purse to send Christmas boxes to kids in 3rd world countries. The Young Woman did this service project last year and really enjoyed it so have decided to do it again. Your donations last year really helped us make this service project a success.
If you’re looking for ways to donate this Christmas Season this is a great opportunity. We are asking for donations for shipping the boxes and to help us fill the boxes with gifts for the kids. We have a goal of 50 shoeboxes. If you would like to donate to this cause please Venmo Sabrina Ward with donations.
(The cost of each box is about $25.)
We can’t wait to see where our boxes end up and to share our love of Christ with these kids.
Thanks for your support!

Thought of the Week
by Michael Cox
Hello Brothers and Sisters,
This week for Come, Follow Me, we are studying the epistles to Timothy, Titus, and Philemon. These first 3 epistles are often times referred to as the “Pastoral Epistles” as both Timothy and Titus were serving as Bishops at the time. Philemon was a short personal letter where Paul encourages Philemon to accept Onesimus (Philemon’s runaway slave) as a Christian brother. 2 Timothy was likely the last epistle written by Paul before he was killed by Roman Emperor Nero and will be the main topic we discuss in this message. In chapter 3 verses 2-5 Paul outlines the apostasy and sins that were happening both in his day and would continue in the future, especially in our day. Verse 5 Paul counsels Timothy and us to “turn away” from these sins. If we turn away from there where is Paul inviting us to turn to? The answer of course is Jesus Christ. In Mosiah chapter 2 King Benjamin is about to begin his great discourse. Everyone arrives and in verse 6 “they pitches their tents round about the temple… with the door there of towards the temple”. The Temple, the house of the Lord, in many ways represents Jesus and the Nephites pitched their tents so they could face the temple. As we decide to symbolically pitch our tents towards the temple and Jesus we can, as Paul counseled Timothy, to “continue… in the things which thou hast learned and hast been assured of” (2 Timothy 3:14) by staying on the covenant path including by study the scriptures “which are able to make [us] wise unto salvation through faith which is in Christ” (2 Timothy 3:15) so that eventually we “may be perfect” (2 Timothy 3:17) through the atonement of Jesus Christ.
Jesus is the Messiah who came to earth, lived a perfect life, paid for all our sins through the atonement and because of that we can all repent and return to live with our Father in Heaven. I promise you my neighbors and friends that this is real and it’s important. I invite you to think on this and the many other messages from this weeks lesson or anything else which the Lord impresses upon your mind and heart and share with someone.
